bookmark_border2025: A Year in Review

My sixth year in review 🙂 Let’s get into it.

The lows:

  1. Rented what I thought would be my dream apartment; turned out to be my worst nightmare
  2. Had like five life crises
  3. Started a new weekly writing series and abandoned the new weekly writing series
  4. Quit climbing and didn’t replace it with a new hobby
  5. Didn’t make any new friends

The highs:

  1. Traveled to Oregon, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and Italy for the first time
  2. Traveled to Japan for the second time!
  3. Got a promotion
  4. Read 57 books out of my goal of 50
  5. Finally found the inspiration for some personal projects
  6. Maintained a perfect Duolingo streak all year, for the second time
  7. Skied my first blue run (poorly, but still)
  8. Completed 9+1 and earned a guaranteed spot in the 2026 NYC marathon
  9. Found the matcha cafe of my dreams
  10. Met my investment goal for the year

Overall a pretty good year. I do think the lows hit me pretty badly. I felt (and still feel) super lost, especially in terms of career direction. But I’m working on it. I’m not totally sure if I’m going to do resolutions or goals for 2026. I feel like I operate on a shorter time horizon and thrive off being flexible. There’s one overarching theme I have in mind though: doing more life makes you better at life.
